Ted Gall, one of Ojai's best loved and most well-known artists, is a prolific sculptor. Working every day on his series of fantastical bronze heads that open to reveal dreams and scenes inside, his mind is racing ahead to the next twenty ideas. He also works lifesize and beyond in steel and aluminum, for special commissions.
Ted started out as an animator and graphic designer, and then became a commercial sculptor. A progressive company in Chicago that made automotive gaskets employed him as artist-in-residence, creating abstract outdoor sculpture for the company's grounds and to give as awards, and the rest is history, as they say. In 1988 Ted and his family came to Ojai and his compelling and powerful figurative work really began to soar.
Ted's sculpture is included in many public and private collections and he has won numerous awards at art shows throughout the country.
